Frequently Asked Questions
How we approach health, wellness, and the planet.
Hotel Polaris is intentionally built, furnished, supplied, and operated to support health and wellness and environmental responsibility. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Designed with intention
Architecture and materials chosen for performance, longevity, and a lighter environmental footprint - starting with our signature breeze block wall.
Healthy on purpose
Every furnishing across guestrooms, lobby, F&B, and spa is independently verified by MindClick for healthy interiors, responsible sourcing, and circularity.
Less waste, every stay
Day-to-day operations - including our Boomerang Water bottle program - keep materials in circulation and out of landfills.
01 - Built
How is Hotel Polaris built for sustainability?
Every angle of the property's signature screen wall was refined through countless hours of manual fabrication and testing. In BLUR's in-house fabrication workshop, architect Jeremy hand-crafted molds, tested patterns, refined shapes, and started over - again and again - until the geometry was exactly right. The result is a perforated concrete screen wall that does what great design always does: it lets light and air move through.
Passive cooling & ventilation
The perforated structure encourages cross-ventilation and steady airflow, lowering indoor temperatures and reducing reliance on energy-heavy HVAC systems.
Daylighting & less artificial light
Cut-out patterns filter and diffuse sunlight - bringing ample natural light deep into a space while maintaining privacy and cutting daytime electricity demand.
Resource-efficient materials
Cast from concrete (often with recycled aggregates and cement substitutes), breeze blocks skip the high-temperature kiln firing that traditional clay bricks require, lowering their overall production footprint.
Built to last with low maintenance
Concrete masonry resists pests and moisture, eliminating the chemical treatments and repainting that wood or metal screens require - beautiful for decades with minimal upkeep.
02 - Furnished & Supplied
How are the interiors furnished and supplied?
Choosing Hotel Polaris means embracing a stay rooted in innovation, sustainability, and holistic well-being. We design our spaces with low-impact materials — repurposed wood fibers, Oeko-Tex® certified textiles, low-VOC finishes — and reduce waste and energy through long-lasting design and smart resource systems. Our full interior collection has been independently verified by MindClick. Three principles guide every selection:
Healthy Interiors
Materials certified free of harmful VOCs by Oeko-Tex®, GreenGuard, Intertek, and similar third parties.
Materials Sourcing
Repurposed wood fibers, recycled content, and industry-waste inputs that reduce reliance on virgin resources.
Circularity
Reusable and recyclable materials, recycled-content packaging, and post-consumer recovery programs like PaintCare®.
Ethical Manufacturing
Many products come from factories third-party certified for fair labor practices and active greenhouse-gas reduction.

03 - Operated
How does Hotel Polaris operate sustainably day-to-day?
Single-use plastic isn't part of the story at Hotel Polaris. Through our partnership with Boomerang Water, glass bottles stay in continuous circulation: collected, sanitized, and refilled on-site, then placed back in guestrooms for the next stay. Every bottle truly comes back around.
No single-use plastic
Glass bottles replace disposable plastic in every guestroom - diverting waste from landfills and waterways.
Closed-loop on-site
Sanitization and refill happens on property, eliminating the carbon footprint of shipping bottled water.
